Covid-19: Response to today’s announcements

Update as at 18th March 2020

Today the Prime Minister announced a change to the restrictions on non-essential indoor gatherings. From today, Wednesday 18th March, non-essential indoor gatherings of greater than 100 people (including staff) will no longer be permitted.

Whilst settings like gyms, indoor fitness centres and swimming pools are not required to close at this time (providing they meet specific requirements for social distancing and hand hygiene), we have today implemented several measures to keep numbers within the centre below 100 people at all times, and support the latest recommendations for social distancing.

Updates to our operating procedures:

  • From today, to keep numbers within the centre to a minimum, we request that wherever possible parents adopt a one child to one adult policy when attending the centre.
  • We request that, where practical, customers avoid using showers and change rooms, arrive ready to swim and take children home warmly wrapped in a towel straight after their lesson.
  • We will continue to provide hand hygiene products and suitable waste receptacles for your use, with frequent cleaning and waste disposal.
  • In accordance with guidelines on social distancing, we are reinforcing with staff the need to maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from customers and each other, and requesting customers do the same.
  • We are aware that there are busy times in the centre times when social distancing is more challenging. To this end we will no longer be offering make-up classes on Saturdays. Please remember that we will carry all make-ups accrued in this period over to next semester, and beyond if necessary.

We have reviewed our current class sizes and staff numbers and are confident that by adopting these measures we can ensure numbers within the centre fall below the current recommendations at all times.

We continue to monitor all developments and will provide further updates as they become available.

Be assured that the well-being of our children, team and families is our first priority.
