Complement your child’s regular swim lessons with Vacswim

Blue Dolphin hosted another successful VACSWIM program from January 15^th through to 19^th 

VACSWIM is South Australia’s ICONIC government funded and endorsed summer holiday swimming initiative.  Providing South Australian primary school children with water knowledge for more than 50 years!

With available locations at Pools, Beaches and Rivers throughout the state the program is aimed at teaching kids vital swim safety skills within different bodies of water, as well as basic swimming skills appropriate to the skill level of the child.

Tom Wiggett, Blue Dolphin Swim Centre Operations Manager, who also takes on board the role of ‘Instructor-in-Charge’ during the week we host VACSWIM had this message for all families who are considering enrolling in VACSWIM

“As a week-long program, swimmers get the repetitive practice of lifelong safety skills. Building a great base understanding of water safety, confidence and competence in the water. The program is a part of children’s aquatic knowledge building blocks alongside Blue Dolphin Swim Safer weeks which occur biannually, and week-long school-swimming blocks. We view these offerings an extension to enhance regular swimming lessons, not as a replacement. Enrolling children into regular swimming lessons not only maintains their proficiemcies within the water but also ensures continuous practices and skills progression. This approach prepares them for optimal participation and success when they engage in additional specialised programs, reinforcing the importance of consistent skill development.”
