Re-Opening Monday 22nd June!

We are happy to announce that Blue Dolphin Swim Centre will
re-open on Monday 22nd June 2020!

It is with great excitement and relief we can finally confirm that, under eased restrictions in South Australia, we are able to re-open our centre. It has been a long and challenging few months for all of us, but during this time we have really appreciated your patience and kind words of support. We are now working very hard to get the centre and our staff ready to welcome you back.

Guidelines specific to public swim centres were made available to us last week, and under the restrictions outlined by the Government of South Australia, we are delighted to now be able to offer learn to swim and Aquafit classes to our customers. Whilst this is very exciting news, it is also important that we outline to you the restrictions that we will be carefully operating under, as this requires co-operation and some changes in the way you will be able to use the centre.

From Monday 22nd June we will be offering swim lessons and Aquafit classes. Unfortunately at this time we cannot recommence our Little Ones program or offer Sensory Splash classes. We will communicate further on these soon.

From our re-opening date we can:

  • Have a maximum of 20 swimmers in our main pool, and 4 babies/children in our small pool at any one time
  • Allow ONE parent/caregiver per swimmer
  • Offer Aquafit classes to a maximum of 20 customers per class

We cannot:

  • Open our showers and change rooms. Swimmers will need to arrive ready to swim:
Swim, wrap up and go. (Toilets will be available)
  • Allow additional adults or siblings to accompany any swimmer
  • Offer food or drinks initially, but we hope to be able to offer takeaway coffee again soon

Please note that staff do not count towards our headcount restrictions, but for safety and comfort we will keep staffing numbers to a safe minimum on each shift.

We are also required to observe, and encourage attendees to adhere to social distancing principles, maintaining 1.5m distance between one another. We will communicate more on this in the coming days, but you will notice a number of changes around the centre to support and promote this.

In order to remain within our headcount restrictions in this phase, we need to restructure how we deliver all of our classes. This will alter class start times, maximum students per class and the number of classes operating at any one time. We will not, therefore, be able to automatically re-book any customers into classes. We also understand that changed times and operating procedures will not suit all of our customers straight away. We will be creating all of the new classes this week, and will begin booking customers from Tuesday 9th June. Please do not ring before this time. We will not make any bookings before 9th June, when staff will be returning to the centre and available to handle your enquiries.

We are SO excited to be welcoming you back and look forward to seeing you all again!

Best wishes

The Blue Dolphin Team
